Dionne Warwick in Valley of the Dolls is the title of Dionne Warwick's ninth album for the Scepter label. It was recorded during the summer and fall of 1967 and was released early the next year. It was recorded at A&R and Bell Sound Studios in New York City and was produced by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. The album's lead single was the title track, Theme from Valley of the Dolls, from the film of the same name. The song was written by André Previn and Dory Previn, and had initially been intended. Dionne Warwick's twelfth album for the Scepter label Dionne Warwick in Valley of the Dolls featured the single. The album was smartly marketed as The only album in which you will hear Dionne Warwick singing the Of The Dolls Theme From - Dionne Warwick. Valley of the Dolls is the second studio long-player by the British post-punk band Generation X, which was produced by Ian Hunter. Valley of the Dolls was recorded at Wessex Sound Studios in Islington in October 1978. The record's working title was 'Intercourse Old Meets New', which was superseded by a name taken from a 1966 novel. Ian Hunter was commissioned as the record's producer at Tony James's request, from having been a fan of his work with Mott the Hoople in the early 1970s. Dionne Warwick.
